12/12/2022 TeamMed relocated to our new home at Suite 6/73 Flinders Street, Wollongong 2500. Phone numbers and opening hours will remain the same. TeamMed Medical Practice Wollongong (open 6 days a week) located in a new complex on Flinders Street in the PARQ Building conveniently located near the Wollongong train station and Wollongong Hospital. This central location and our experience, comprehensive, high-quality level of care have established TeamMed as Wollongong’s premier health building medical centre. This Wollongong medical centre is a full-service facility, with an expert team of doctors, nurses, and health professionals. TeamMed Wollongong is an accredited teaching practice for GP registrars and medical students. As a result of this longstanding Government inaction on Medicare Rebates, practices cannot continue to bulk bill. Unfortunately, Medicare Rebates have not kept pace with inflation, and do not reflect the cost of delivering high quality general practice services. Due to this, from 1st April 2023, health care card holders and students and some pensioners who have previously been bulk billed will be required to pay a discounted fee at the time of their consultation. The practice can transmit your claim to Medicare following payment, and the rebate on some occasions can be paid immediately onto a debit card or will be paid directly into your bank account. As of 01/7/2024 GP fees Monday to Friday 8.30am to 6.15pm will incur a $40 GAP after receiving a Medicare rebate for the relevant item number billed for Medicare eligible patients. Any consult from 6.30pm will be classed as an afterhours consult and will incur a GAP of $52. Concession card holders will incur a $25 GAP for the relevant item number billed after Medicare rebate for Medicare eligible patients. Full-time students will incur a $30 GAP for the relevant item number billed after Medicare rebate for Medicare eligible patients. Walkin patients will pay a out-of-pocket fee of $60 after Medicare rebate for Medicare eligible patients.Monday to Friday all children and age pensioners 65 and older will be bulk billed. Saturdays are fully private with a GAP of $52 for face-to-face consults or $64.50 for phone consults after 1pm.
