Since I arrived in Portugal, I only make appointments here. From the reception to the doctors, you can see a lot of professionalism and ethics. I had my two wisdom teeth extracted by Dr. Pedro Albino and the experience was incredible. He has a very light touch, and I didn't have any problems afterwards. As for the cleaning (which I usually have done by the hygienist), it's impeccable, and without any tartar. I recommend this clinic without hesitation.

I made an appointment for 4 PM. They called me to change the appointment time, saying it would be at 5:45 PM. I went to the location at the appointed time and they told me the appointment was at 3:45 PM and that "the clinic would close in 15 minutes". Total disorganization. Terrible reception. We are tourists. The clinic is very bad, unprofessional staff. I came in with severe pain and an infection that needed urgent treatment. The receptionist listened to me and refused to admit me because the system was frozen. After I asked her to ask the doctor if he could take it. She pretended not to hear me. Very unpleasant and unprofessional!

Awful. I’m strongly not recommend this clinic. I came with a complaint of a very sharp pain in the tooth, I had a nerve exposed on my wisdom tooth. The pain was wild. the doctor examined me, suffered for a long time, but she couldn’t take a picture of my tooth herself and sent me for X-ray after she said that I just had a normal inflammation and I needed to drink antibiotics and painkillers for 8 days, and only then after 8 days they could remove the aching tooth. During the conversation, it turned out that she was not examining the tooth that was hurting, she just did not understand me. But even after she discovered a right problem tooth, she said that everything was the same just to drink antibiotics and painkillers for 8 days. It seemed absurd to me because the tooth hurt so much that I could not touch it with my tongue from pain, I could not imagine how I would live 8 days with a bare nerve. Immediately after this non-professional visit, I decided to go to another clinic, where I had a damaged tooth removed in 3 minutes without pain at all. If I had listened to the treatment of a doctor from Medidental, I would have suffered for 8 days and it is not yet known what was with the tooth, perhaps an infection would develop there and there would be very sad consequences. I do not recommend this clinic. Doctors of a lowest professionalism level work here. UPD: They are also liars because all they do in response to my review is deeply lie. In our defense we would like to tell you the facts: You came to the clinic complaining about pain on the left side of your face. You mentioned that your English was not very good and tried to explain yourself using google translator. We asked you to open your mouth and while analyzing your teeth you started saying that you were in a lot of pain and so the doctor had to stop. In the brief time that you let her see your mouth, the doctor realized that you had an infection and needed antibiotics. To understand exactly what was wrong, she requested a panoramic x-ray and realized that you needed to remove two teeth. After the x-ray, when the doctor was analyzing the results, you mentioned that recently, you had broken one of your teeth. The doctor asked you to have a look again and suggested that a temporary restoration should be applied to prevent further complications. You refused. Then she explained that she couldn´t extract your teeth with an infection like the one you had. It is very difficult for the anestesia to have effect and may even not have effect at all, and the extraction can cause complications. The doctor told you that you would that you needed to take antibiotics and pain killers and return to the clinic to remove the problematic teeth. When you left you appreciated her help and said the you were immediately going to the pharmacy and start the treatment she prescribed. The clinical approach and decision made by the doctor was correct and as the manager of MEDIDENTAL I trust 100% in my staff and their decision.

I would be very careful before allowing this clinic to do any procedures on your teeth. I came for a check up, was told I needed a filling, to which I was very surprised because my teeth were given the all clear 6 months prior. However I decided they must know what they are talking about. After the filling I was in a huge amount of pain for weeks. I came back in and was told I needed a root canal. I seeked advise from 2 other dentists because I thought this was crazy. After more x-rays I was told both times that the inside looked normal but my tooth had been drilled down so much that it resembled the tooth of an 80 year old. I'm 42. The protective layer had been drilled down because I was experiencing pain after the filling and Meditental thought the tooths was touching the top one. It's now 10 months later and I still can't chew properly on my left side. I will have to have the filling taken out, redone and a fake protective layer on top. I'm furious because I didn't actually need a filling in the first place, it was done as a precaution. This was on top of another very expensive procedure that claimed to fix gum disease because I was experiencing pain. After 10 months I'm still experiencing pain and I have now found out that my tooth is moving thus causing pain to the gum area in question, and likely had nothing to do with gum disease. I hate leaving bad reviews, however in this case I feel this clinic treats expats like cash cows instead of being honest about the actual treatment that is needed. The staff are very friendly but in these cases the treatment is questionable. I have since found another dentist in Lisbon who is reliable and honest. If you're doing a big procedure, I would seek alternative advice before going ahead with this clinic.

In our defense we would like to say: You came to the clinic for a check-up and you had some pain. In the initial consultation, a complete evaluation was made with x-rays, where it was detected that you needed cleaning and a cavity. This consultation was carried out with a complete cleaning and in the following procedure, the removal of the cavity and its restoration with composite. From time to time, some pain or sensitivity may occur after the restorations. This is a natural response of our body changes. It does not mean that we have perfurated or anything else. Normally, the pain disappears over time, but sometimes it does not happen and we that means you have a dental infection, caused by the original tooth decay. After some time you returned to our clinic with pain and after we did a careful evaluation, including X-rays, we verified that you needed a root canal treatment. In this consultation, everything was explained to you and seemed clarified of the process. We even framed the next consultation to give continuity to the treatment. However, you never came back for the treatment. We don't like to be accused of not treat equally expats cause it's not true. Around 40% of our patients are from abroad and we treat all our customers equally.
