Why Choose Klinik Pergigian Khoo (Khoo Dental Surgery) 邱牙科诊所 in Kuala Lumpur?

Klinik Pergigian Khoo is a multi-dentist practice in Taman OUG, Kuala Lumpur, with Australian and Singaporean-trained dentists offering Invisalign, Damon braces, implants, and cosmetic dentistry.

Klinik Pergigian Khoo (Khoo Dental Surgery) is a well-established dental practice located at 20, Jalan Awan Hijau, Taman OUG, 58200 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The clinic is staffed by a team of experienced dentists with international qualifications from leading dental schools in Australia, Singapore, and Malaysia. This depth of internationally trained talent makes Khoo Dental Surgery one of the most qualified neighbourhood dental practices in Kuala Lumpur, offering patients a high standard of care across general, orthodontic, cosmetic, and surgical dentistry.

The clinic operates seven days a week, providing exceptional scheduling flexibility for patients. The team of dentists includes Dr Khoo Keng Chai (BDSc, Melbourne), Dr Samuel Tseu Ken Fui (BDS, Sydney, 1994), Dr Elizabeth Thomas (BDS, Singapore), and Dr Kee Kai Ming (BDS, University of Malaya). This multi-practitioner model ensures that a range of expertise is available to patients at any given time.

Treatments & Specialties

Khoo Dental Surgery offers an extensive range of dental treatments, with particular strength in orthodontics and cosmetic dentistry. The clinic's services include:

  • Invisalign clear aligners – virtually invisible removable aligners for discreet teeth straightening, delivered by certified Invisalign providers
  • Damon braces – self-ligating bracket system that offers faster treatment times, greater comfort, and fewer adjustment appointments than traditional braces
  • Traditional orthodontics – metal and ceramic braces for comprehensive teeth straightening and bite correction
  • Dental implants – permanent titanium implant solutions for replacing one or more missing teeth
  • Cosmetic dentistry – porcelain veneers, composite bonding, smile makeovers, and aesthetic enhancements
  • Teeth whitening – professional bleaching treatments for a brighter, more youthful smile
  • Crowns and bridges – fixed prosthetic restorations in ceramic, zirconia, and other modern materials
  • Dentures – full and partial removable prosthetics for patients with extensive tooth loss
  • Root canal treatment – endodontic therapy to save teeth affected by infection or deep decay
  • Periodontal treatment – gum disease diagnosis and management including deep scaling and surgical interventions
  • Oral surgery – surgical extractions, wisdom tooth removal, and other surgical procedures
  • General dentistry – examinations, professional cleaning, fillings, and preventive care

The availability of both Invisalign and Damon braces gives patients a choice of orthodontic systems, allowing the dental team to recommend the most appropriate option based on each patient's specific alignment needs, lifestyle preferences, and budget.

Technology & Facilities

Khoo Dental Surgery maintains a well-equipped clinical environment at its Taman OUG location. The clinic utilises digital dental radiography for accurate diagnostic imaging, enabling the team of dentists to assess tooth conditions, bone structures, and treatment requirements with precision.

The practice is equipped with the instrumentation and materials needed for both general and specialist procedures, including orthodontic bonding systems for Damon and traditional braces, digital scanning technology for Invisalign treatment planning, and surgical instruments for implant placement and oral surgery.

Sterilisation and infection control protocols meet Malaysian dental regulatory standards, with dedicated sterilisation equipment and procedures to ensure patient safety. Treatment rooms are fitted with modern dental chairs and adequate clinical lighting for detailed work.

The presence of four qualified dentists with diverse specialisations means the clinic can manage a broad range of cases efficiently, with internal consultations between practitioners when multi-disciplinary expertise is beneficial for a patient's treatment plan.

Why Choose Khoo Dental Surgery in Kuala Lumpur

The primary advantage of choosing Khoo Dental Surgery is the calibre of its dental team. Having dentists trained at the University of Melbourne, the University of Sydney, the National University of Singapore, and the University of Malaya — all internationally recognised dental schools — provides patients with a level of clinical expertise that is typically associated with specialist centres rather than neighbourhood practices.

Dr Khoo Keng Chai's Melbourne qualification and Dr Samuel Tseu's Sydney training are particularly reassuring for Australian dental tourists, who can expect their treating dentists to be familiar with the standards and approaches of Australian dentistry. Similarly, patients from Singapore will find common ground with Dr Elizabeth Thomas's training background.

The clinic's seven-day operating schedule is a major practical advantage. Open Monday through Thursday from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Friday and Saturday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and Sunday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, the clinic offers more appointment availability than most dental practices in Kuala Lumpur.

Cost savings are substantial. Dental treatment at Khoo Dental Surgery is typically 50–70% less expensive than comparable procedures in Australia, Singapore, or the United Kingdom. Invisalign treatment, dental implants, and Damon braces are all available at a fraction of Western prices, delivered by dentists with equivalent international training.

Patient Experience

Patients visiting Khoo Dental Surgery benefit from the collective experience and diverse expertise of the clinic's four-dentist team. Each practitioner brings different strengths and perspectives, and the clinic can match patients with the most appropriate dentist based on their specific treatment needs.

The Taman OUG neighbourhood is one of Kuala Lumpur's most beloved food destinations, famous for its hawker centres and diverse restaurant scene. Patients can explore excellent local cuisine within walking distance of the clinic — from dim sum and noodle stalls to seafood restaurants and kopitiam coffee shops.

Communication at the clinic is conducted in English, Malay, and Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese), as indicated by the clinic's trilingual name display including Chinese characters (邱牙科诊所). This multilingual capability ensures smooth communication with patients from across the Asia-Pacific region and beyond.

Patients can contact the clinic at +60 17-839 8088 to book appointments. The seven-day schedule and multiple dentists on staff help minimise waiting times and allow flexible scheduling for dental tourists with tight itineraries in Kuala Lumpur.

Soft-spoken and gentle Dr.... After spending time explaining the process and price , she also took extra precautions to give me a piece of mind. This was my first time visiting this dentist, as I have had this issue with my tooth after countless other dentist trying to solve it. I can say this time was the cheapest and best ones as I'm in no more pain. She was friendly and nice. I was a walk in as well. And was attended as soon as they could, which I didn't even wait for long. I would highly recommend this dentist as the staff and Dr was very accommodating and helpful towards my pain. They for sure have a client in me for life😁

Bad treatment & charges not cheap either, my teeth worst than before, pain after treated for tooth decay, then need to go back 2 times, but problem still persist, every time after food, the meat will stuck between the particular teeth and cause pain, need to floss every time else scares infection, blood will come out every time & gum become red. Regret for spending yet caused my teeth such problem. Will not go to this dentist anymore, will need to find another dental clinic & hopefully can fix the problem.

This dentist clinic is probably the lousiest dentist clinic in Malaysia. I had to wear my braces for 4 years and paid RM7000, and the dentist said my post-braces teeth would last for 30 years. It’s not even 2 years later and my teeth are moving back to its original places, even though I wore my expensive retainers every single day without fail. Also, everytime my brackets fell out, the doctor charges me to stick them back, while later on finding out that other dentist doesn’t charge for this. Not to mention that my brackets always fell out, so that even more money out the window. The customer service is also extremely bad, the receptionist are rude and unhelpful. They will always ignore and glare at my parents whenever we ask for something the doctor recommended. Sometimes the waiting time even goes up to an hour. DO NOT waste your time and money going to this dentist clinic.

I noticed there are good and bad comments, through my experience, fortunately it is on the good side. For bad comments on nurses at reception, I encountered a uncle aged around 85, reluctant to give his medical history and being rude to the nurse who trying to take the record by saying "You asked so much for what!?". The reason is common, if he is a diabetic patient, bleeding is hard to stop ya. For bad comments on doctors, I would said is between you and the doctor interaction plus faith. So far I consulted Dr. Matthew twice and extracted two teeth within 4 days. His treatments are fine , very gentle, careful and willing to explain with you. Aging is unavoidable, I have an old family dentist, I remembered the time he trying to extract tooth, he pulled so strong until the dental extraction forceps hits the other tooth, luckily no crack on that tooth. You have to believe, there is such thing "Young and Dynamic" in this world and Dr Matthew is the young one :o) For bad comments on pricing, average my tooth extraction treatment cost is about RM120-RM150, depends on what treatment needed, of course if you are taking x-ray, charge rate will increase. Anyhow, most companies with dental benefit normally is between RM200 - RM500 yearly, you may claim from there. For bad comments on the clinic place, so far the clinic is clean and car parks can be found, not so difficult, may be you needs to walk 200-500 meters. As we known, things will not be perfect always, at least changes to improve is there ya and I wish you will find the best and right doctor here. Hopes, this help. Thank you.
