Dr Sukanya Telfer has over 30 years experience as a dentist here in Canberra. She enjoys all aspects of general dentistry and is particularly passionate about creating beautiful long lasting restorations using digital CADCAM dentistry. Sukanya believes that effective communication is key to patient understanding and optimum treatment outcomes. Her gentle touch, paired with a thorough attention to detail is appreciated by patients of all ages. On the weekends Sukanya likes to spend her time hiking with her husband and finding unique foods and support local restaurants and bakeries. Dr George Liao is a Canberra local who flew straight back after graduating from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Dental Science with Honours. He has been serving the Canberra community for many years. George is very thorough in his adaptive dental care and will work closely with you to create a plan which you can feel confident in. George believes that a healthy mouth is a great reason to smile and loves to give oral hygiene advice to all his patients. George is a lifelong learner and enthusiastically attends continuing professional development courses. Outside of work his interests are eclectic, including gardening, cooking, fishing, coin collecting and building his dental Youtube channel. Dr Deborah Kong was born and raised in Canberra. She moved to Adelaide to complete her dental qualifications, obtaining her Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 2007. After graduating she spent a number of years working in Sydney before returning to her home city, where she is able to spend more time with her family. Deb is committed to providing her patients with high quality dental care that is tailored to suit their individual needs. She focuses on preventative dental care and likes to involve patients in the procedure and educate them along the way to help them achieve their oral health goals. Deb also enjoys working with anxious patients and finds it extremely rewarding to assist them in overcoming their dental fears.ย Deb speaks Cantonese. Outside of dentistry, Deb enjoys watching movies, hiking, travelling and is an avid theatre goer. She likes to stay active to counteract her love for all things food related by going to the gym andย running. Mel is our lovely hygienist with many years of experience providing the utmost care for all her patients.ย Mel is dedicated and passionate about empowering others to achieve optimal gum health which is inextricably linked to general health and well being. I had an outstanding experience at Reasons to Smile. Dr. Sukanya is a very skilled dentist. She provided me with important information and put me at ease throughout both my initial exam and cleaning and the crown i required at a subsequent visit. I was amazed that the entire crown procedure was carried out in just ONE visit and without any discomfort or pain. The entire team at Reasons to Smile are professional, friendly and attentive. It is not easy to make an emergency appointment when for 2 hours plus your phone number states "the number you have called is not connected".

I am 63 years old and have seen a lot of dentists over the years and Reasons to Smile are an absolute stand out. So professional, and they have the latest and best equipment. Dr Sukanya is the most pain free dentist I have ever had. The Drs here really listen to your needs and preferences and put together a comprehensive treatment plan. Even the view out the window is the best!

I had to cancel at the last minute due to a family emergency, Maddi was so understanding & kind, she called me a couple of weeks later to see if I wanted to reschedule and took the time to check in how I was after everything - she is a real asset. Dr George is really caring and friendly. He takes the time to explain everything and is very thorough. All the staff are great, its obvious it's a great place to work. I'm really happy going to Reasons to Smile.

Reasons to Smile dentists - I've been to Dr Celia and Dr George - are really good. They know their stuff and communicate it well. I can highly recommend this practice. Your teeth will really be looked after very well with strategies for protecting them into the future. All the staff are friendly and helpful.
