I had an incredibly disappointing experience with Dr. Owens at Bunbury Orthodontics Centre. I sought treatment to improve my smile, but instead, I was left with new issues that now require further orthodontic work. I trusted him, but he failed to provide the level of expertise and care I expected and deserved.
When I reached out to raise my concerns, Dr. Owens did not take accountability and instead made excuses for his shortcomings. Rather than acknowledging any responsibility, he attributed everything to genetics. This was especially frustrating because before braces, my case was relatively straightforward, but due to his treatment, it has now become much more complex. His response was merely to defend himself, with no acknowledgment of the mismanagement or the impact it had on me. Throughout my treatment, I felt that his skills were limited and that he was not fully equipped to handle more complex orthodontic cases.
Do not settle for convenience when it comes to your orthodontic care. Just because a practice is local doesnโt mean itโs the best choice. You are much better off traveling farther to a skilled orthodontist who prioritises patient outcomes and stays up to date with evidence-based treatments.
I strongly urge others to do their research and find an orthodontist who truly understands the balance between functionality and facial harmony (aesthetics). I regret choosing this practice, as it cost us valuable time, money, and trustโnot to mention the frustration it caused.
Please seek orthodontic treatment elsewhere.

This was never about โevolving desires.โ From the very beginning, I had realistic expectationsโI sought treatment to address my original problems. However, due to mismanagement, I was left with new problems that I didnโt have before, which now require correction. These issues were completely avoidable and resulted from a lack of proper planning and insufficient expertise, not a shift in expectations. Blaming โbiological factorsโ does not excuse the lack of accountability for how my treatment was handled.
Itโs disappointing that instead of taking responsibility, theyโve chosen to deflect blame. If they respond again, I will not be engaging further. All I wanted was some accountability, but itโs clear I wonโt receive any.
