Honestly quite disappointed... I rang this morning as I havnt been to a dentist since I was little and the pain I have been in I haven't been able to eat nor do anything. When I rang this morning to make an appointment I explain I looked up online for Medicare cover and there clinc come up and I had no money at the time. I was told to come in for my appointment and on the time of checking in I just wanted to double check before going through with the appointment that as was said on the phone about Medicare (I had given my date of birth) on the over the phone had all acknowledge of my age, for me to get told Medicare only cover up to 17yrs and to go to the hospital... I'm quite upset and disappointed with this. I feel so let down, that something I could of been told on the phone and had dealt with I sat again in pain just to be turned down.. I explained on the phone to about no having money, and if it could be covered by Medicare to avoid this whole issue that's happen. But I have just wasted what fuel I had, to sit in pain all day just to be told to go to the hospital it just upsets me as why it wasn't said to me over the phone instead of making the appointment??? My family and I are new to the are and I had heard about so many people using Medicare cover at the dentist in an emergency, so I had no acknowledgement about going to the hospital as I thought they'd refer you to a places that ment I deal with your teeth? So definitely not to impressed with the communication... As I said I could of been told this morning when rinig to go to the hospital but yet I was make an appointment that I couldn't even attend explaining I only had Medicare cover at the point in time. Explained on the phone before I even went in
Clinic response ():
Response from the owner 2 weeks agoDear Olivia, Thank you so much for sharing what happened. Weโre truly sorry to hear how much pain youโve been in, and we completely understand how upsetting and exhausting this experience must have felt for you. The last thing we ever want is for someone already struggling to feel even more stressed. To help clarify, our clinic is a private dental practice, and unfortunately Medicare only covers dental treatment for patients under 18. For adults, Medicareโcovered emergency dental care is provided through the public hospital dental service, which is why our team directed you there once we confirmed your eligibility. Weโre very sorry if this wasnโt made clear enough during your phone call. We will absolutely review our communication to make sure we explain Medicare limitations more clearly so no one is left confused or inconvenienced. We genuinely hope youโre able to get relief from your pain quickly, and we truly wish you and your family the very best as you settle into the area.
