Same-Day Implants and Temporary Teeth
My Amazing Experience at DentalPassport's Ho Chi Minh City Clinic
Dental Implants
I got amazing results at DentalPassport's clinic in Ho Chi Minh City where Dr. Pham and Dr. Le gave me 5 implants and temporary teeth in one day, something other dentists said was impossible, and I'm thrilled with my new smile!

Ok so I just got back from Ho Chi Minh City and I HAVE to tell everyone about this because im still kind of in shock that it actually worked out this well…
Im from the US and my teeth were honestly a disaster. Like, embarrassing disaster. I’d been putting off dealing with it for years because every dentist i talked to back home either wanted like $30k+ or said what i needed was basically impossible. They all said id need implants put in, then wait months for them to heal, THEN get temporary teeth, then wait MORE months for permanent ones. I was looking at like a year+ of having no upper teeth and i just… i couldnt do it. So i kept putting it off and hating how i looked.
Thats when i found SmileJet through some dental tourism forum (reddit i think?). I was super skeptical at first tbh. Vietnam?? For major dental surgery?? My sister thought i was absolutely insane lol. But the more i researched, the more it seemed legit. And the price difference was ridiculous – we’re talking like 1/4 of what id pay at home. So i was like screw it, worst case i get a vacation out of it.
SmileJet connected me with DentalPassport clinic in HCMC and handled all the coordination which honestly made everything way less stressful. The flight was long AF (like 20+ hours with layover) and i was so nervous the whole time i barely slept. Landed in Saigon and it was HOT and chaotic and amazing all at once. Got a Grab to my hotel in District 1 and just tried to process that i was actually doing this.
First clinic visit was the next morning and im not gonna lie, i was terrified walking in. But the clinic was SO nice?? Like nicer than any dentist office ive been to back home. Super modern, everything looked brand new. Dr. Pham and Dr. Le both spoke really good English which was a huge relief. They did all these scans and showed me exactly what they were gonna do. The wild part was when they said they could put in the implants AND temporary teeth all in one day. Every dentist at home told me that was impossible but they were like “yeah we do this all the time, no problem.”
The morning of surgery i was lowkey panicking. The nurses were amazing though, kept checking on me and making sure i was comfortable. They put me under (thank god because i did NOT want to be awake for that) and next thing i remember im waking up and its done. My old upper teeth were gone and i had 5 implants already in. Just like that.
While i was hanging out in recovery (they had this nice quiet room), they were making my temporary teeth. The nurses came by like every 20 minutes to check if i was ok. I felt uncomfortable but not really in pain? More just… weird. Like pressure and soreness but the meds they gave me handled it pretty well. By afternoon they brought me back in and put in the temporary teeth and i literally cried when i looked in the mirror. I had a SMILE. A real smile. And these temps dont come out – theyre screwed in so they feel like real teeth.
I stayed in HCMC for about a week after for follow-ups. Honestly barely had any swelling which surprised everyone (including me). Spent most of the time eating pho (became obsessed), walking around District 1, and just being a tourist. The city is wild – motorbikes everywhere, amazing food for like $2, everyone was super friendly even with the language barrier. SmileJet checked in on me a couple times during recovery which was nice.
Im going back next month to get the permanent teeth put in and i literally cant wait. The temps look and feel so good that im almost not even worried about the permanents lol. This whole experience has been insane in the best way possible.
Money wise – yeah it cost money, im not gonna pretend it was cheap. But it was still SO much cheaper than doing it at home. Like probably saved $20k+ even with flights and hotel and everything. And honestly? Even if it cost the same id probably still do it in Vietnam because the level of care was incredible.
If youre thinking about doing dental work in Vietnam and youre nervous (which is totally normal), i cant recommend DentalPassport and SmileJet enough. They made something that seemed impossible actually happen. Dr. Pham and Dr. Le are genuinely talented and the whole team was so supportive and professional.
10 out of 10 for sure. Dont even worry about it. Best decision ive made in years and i wish i did this sooo much sooner instead of just being miserable about my teeth.
Happy to answer questions if anyone has them! Still processing that i actually have a normal smile now lol
